On October 5th, 2009 the first meeting of the year for Eden Homemakers was held at the beautiful country home of Carolyn Anderson. Carolyn gave a tour of the home before the meeting.

Marilyn Baughman, Senior Counselor called the meeting to order and thanked the hostess. In the absence of our Junior Counselor, Martha Jennings, Marilyn went over the program for the year. The theme for the year is "Purple Gems".

She also gave a reading about "Purple Gems". Roll call was answered by fifteen ladies by giving their favorite bible verse.

The secretary and treasurers reports were given and approved.

We made a motion at the May 4th meeting to give $30 for umbrellas for Wyandot Cares. They have enough umbrellas, so we rescinded our motion and gave the money for bibles. Motion to rescind was made by Treva Schilling, second by Cletabelle Barnes, motion passed.

Discussion was held about Operation Shoe Box. We need to have our boxes at the November meeting. Taking care of the boxes will be Treva Schilling, Judy Gilliland and Jackie Mosman.

Lois Rife made a motion to give a food basket to the La Roe family and the rest of the food to the food pantry, second by Helen Pool, motion passed.

Marilyn told of the community projects for the year. She also thanked Deb Phillips for the beautiful book of last years meetings.

Cards of cheer were sent to Judy Frey, Martha Jennings, Gib Murphy, Irven Kieffer, Craig Riedel and Jim Butte (Mary Brown's friend).
