Meeting Minutes December 7, 2009

Eden Homemakers

The December 7th meeting of Eden Homemakers was held at the home of Freda Beamer. The beautiful Christmas decorations gave us a very warm welcome. Senior Counselor Marilyn Baughman opened the meeting with two readings "Holidays for Friends" and "Information on Reindeer". Lois Stuckey read from the Daily Bread "Shepherds" for devotions. Roll call was answered by nineteen ladies by telling "Their Favorite Christmas Ornaments".
The secretary and treasurers reports were read and approved.
Jackie Mosman reported fifteen boxes were taken to Operation Shoe Box. Edna Armstrong, Martha Jennings and Miriam Goodman will deliver the food baskets to the LaRoe family and Food Pantry.
Discussion was held about the Pancake/Sausage dinner/supper that the 4-H Advisory Council sponsors. We will help in the dining room as a community project. A sign up sheet was passed around.
Under new business Marilyn reminded everyone we would not meet in January and February. The March 1st meeting will be a potluck at Sharon McGuire’s.
Christmas cards were sent to Gib Murphy and Jim Butt. Sympathy cards were sent to Deb Phillips, Mary Brown and Joyce Murphy. Thinking of you card was sent to Bob and Lois Stuckey.
Becky Blocksom entertained us with Christmas music and Christian songs. We also had a sing along of Christmas carols. The best entertainment was when Becky assigned different parts of the song "Partridge in a Pear Tree" and we acted them out. What a hoot.
We had a White Elephant Christmas gift exchange by matching a Christmas card. Marilyn presented each lady with a personalized purple Christmas bulb dated 2009 and Freda gave each of us presents "A Beautiful White Ornament".
Delicious refreshments were served by Lois Stuckey, Phyllis Clark and
Freda. Meeting closed by Jackie and Edna.
