December 2010 Minutes

Eden Homemakers
Meeting Minutes December 6, 2010
The Eden Homemaker met December 6, 2010 at We Luv Yogurt. We had a wonderful meal of salads, chicken, pork, baked potato, green bean casserole, cinnamon roll, cookies and sherbet. The cost was $11.72.
Francis Schilling gave the devotions for the evening reading "Whiter than Snow" and "Snowflakes". She also gave the blessing before the meal.
Cletabelle Barnes, Junior Counselor welcome all present in the absence of Senior Counselor, Martha Jennings who had open heart surgery that day and was reported as doing well. Roll call was answered by sixteen ladies by answering "Have you mailed your greeting cards".
Under old business, we discussed the food baskets and they will go to the LaRoe family and a lady named Rachael that Treva Schilling knows. We will buy meat for the baskets. Lois Rife made a motion to send leftover food to the food pantry. Second by Jackie Mosman. Motion passed. Jackie, Treva and Lois will deliver the baskets.
Charlie Mosman’s funeral dinner will be used as the homemaker’s community project. Freda Beamer was in charge of getting food and setting up the township house. Jackie thanked everybody for a job well done and was very thankful.
Marilyn Baughman made a motion to spend $20.00 for a book in memory of Barb Kieffer. Second by Francis. Motion passed. Sharon McGuire will get the book.
Lois Rife was in charge of the game that we played to exchange gifts. Thanks to Martha for getting the gifts.
Get well cards were sent to Barb Kieffer, Martha Jennings, Phyllis Clark and Marilyn and Gene Baughman. A Sympathy card was sent to the Barb Kieffer Family.

November 2010 Minutes

Eden Homemakers
Meeting Minutes November 1, 2010
The November meeting of Eden Homemakers was held at the home of Joyce Richards.
The meeting was called to order by Martha Jennings with a reading.
Pat Riedel, acting secretary, read the secretary’s report and asked each member what they were doing for Thanksgiving as roll call.
Twenty shoeboxes were collected and money for the boxes was giving to Treva. She and Jackie Mosman will deliver them to Marion.
Martha said Dwain Sayre was to be a speaker in March and wanted us to be thinking about any questions we may have for him.
The group decided again to collect food for a needy family and the food pantry. Marilyn made a motion to do this. Treva second the motion. Motion passed.
Marilyn thanked us for our cards and prayers during her time of loss.
Marilyn read about "Thankfulness" for devotions and also read "Turkey".
Treva suggested we all make a few cards for Jackie. Cards were sent to Jackie and to Barb Kieffer.
Meeting was adjourned and everyone went to the craft room at Richard’s and made cards.
Refreshments of pumpkin rolls and cider were served.

Meeting Minutes October 4, 2010

The first fall meeting o Eden Homemakers was held at the home of Deb Phillips on October 4th 2010.
Senior Counselor Martha Jennings called the meeting to order. Cletabelle Barnes, Junior Counselor along with Martha went over the program for the year. A big thank-you was giving to Marilyn Baughman and here daughter Pam for doing the program.
Roll call was answered by fifteen ladies – funny experience at the fair.
The secretary and treasurers’ reports were read and approved.
Under old business, the new drapes for the township house are finished. Pat Riedel and Freda Beamer will wash windows and hang the drapes. This project was a donation to the township house for having some of our meeting there.
The yearly collection was taken to pay for program materials and speakers.
A cute little photo album made by Deb and signed by the members will be present to Marilyn at the November meeting.
Treva Shilling spoke about the Operation Christian Child Shoebox project. We are to have the boxes ready for the November meeting.
Cards were sent to Charlie and Jackie Mosman and Marilyn and Gene Baughman.
The menu for the December meeting held at We-Luv-Yogurt will include chicken and pork, baked potato, green bean casserole, assorted salads and beverage.
The speaker for the evening was Charlotte Leeth dressed as Rosie the Riveter. She told how the women went to work in the factories while the men were at war.
Delicious refreshments were served by Deb and Mary Brown.

Meeting Minutes July 6, 2010

The Eden Homemakers met July 6th at the Wyandot County Museum for the last meeting of the year.
Marilyn Baughman welcomed everyone present and gave a reading "Being an Influence on Others". She also thanked everyone for making her year a great success.
We then were served very delicious finger foods and tea prepared by Marilyn, Lois Rife and Jackie Mosman.
Roll call was answered by nineteen ladies by naming their favorite antiques. The secretary and treasurers report was read and approved.
Ashlie Payton of the museum gave a very interesting talk about the museum and customs carry out about death in the 1800s. A tour of the museum followed.
A get well card was sent to Mariam Goodman.
Martha Jennings ask if everyone was in favor of a July meeting and the answer was yes.
We collected $235 for the 4-H capital campaign.
Marilyn closed the meeting with a reading "Houses are Like People".

Meeting Minutes June 7, 2010

The Eden Homemakers held their June 7th meeting at the beautiful home of Joyce Richards.
Senior Counselor, Marilyn Baughman called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. Marilyn gave a reading "Enjoy your Coffee".
Cletabelle Barnes gave devotions "Everywhere I Look".
Roll call was answered, by thirteen ladies, by naming their favorite hobby.
The Secretary and Treasurer’s reports of the May meeting were read. Motion was made by Edna Armstrong and second by Freda Beamer to approve the minutes and Treasurer’s report. Motion passed.
Under old business, discussion was held about next year’s programs and agendas. Freda reported that the Township building could use new curtains. Pat Riedel will make them.
New business consisted of a discussion about the 4-H Capital Champaign. Pat moved and second by Deb Phillips that each person if willing donate $10 or more and this will be given as a group by Eden Homemakers. Motion passed.
Get well cards were sent to Carolyn Anderson and Lois Stuckey. Sympathy cards were sent to Lois Rife and Helen Pool. Fiftieth anniversary card was sent to Treva Shilling.
The nest meeting will be Tuesday, July 6th because of the July 4th Holiday.
Edna moved to close the meeting, second by Helen. Marilyn closed with a reading "Mud Puddles and Dandelions". Refreshments were served Edna and Cletabelle.

Meeting Minutes May 3, 2010

The May 3rd , 2010 meeting of Eden Homemakers was held at the Eden Township building with Helen Pool as hostess and Paula Zimmerman and Martha Jennings as co-hostess.
Senior counselor, Marilyn Baughman welcomed all of her purple gems dressed in purple. She then thanked the hostess and co-hostess and gave a reading "Angel Left Her Wings".
Roll call was answered by nineteen ladies by telling the number of grand and great grandchildren.
Lin Bils moved to accept Secretary and Treasurer’s report as read. Second by Amy Hill. Motion passed.
There was no old business, so we moved into new business.
New officers for next year will be: Martha Jennings, Senior counselor; Cletabelle Barnes, Junior Counselor and Sharon McGuire, Secretary/Treasurer. Lois Rife moved to accept this slate of officers. Second by Helen. Motion passed. Martha passed out papers to be filled out by next meeting as to what you would like to do for next years program and if you would like to be a hostess or co-hostess.
Freda Beamer will check with Trustees for what they would need to update building.
A get well card was sent to Amy.
Helen thanked Marilyn for the wonderful job she did this past year in leading the Purple Gems.
Cindy Brady was the speaker for the evening. She gave information on genealogy. Everybody had pictures of family members to share. A question and answer period followed.
Marilyn closed with a reading, "Grandma".
Miriam Goodman moved to adjourn. Second by Jackie Mosman.

Meeting Minutes April 5, 2010

Marilyn Baughman, Senior Counselor gave everyone a very warm welcome for the April 5th, 2010 Eden Homemakers meeting held at the Eden Township building which was decorated in a bird house theme. Lois Rife filled in for Sandy Marshall.
Sixteen ladies answered roll call by "what do you like to do in your leisure time".
Devotions were given by Francis Schilling on "Birds in the Bible".
Mary Brown move to accept the Secretary and Treasurer’s report as read. Second by Deb Phillips.
Officers were discussed and tabled to the July meeting.
Cards were sent to Paul and Lois Rife, Lois Stuckey, Kenny Beamer and Gene and Marilyn Baughman.
Our speaker for the evening was Bill Latham. He lectured on drugs in our county and surrounding counties. He also told of the crimes that surrounds us and what to do to be more safe in our homes. A question and answer period followed.
Marilyn closed the meeting with a reading "Pine Tree Cross".
Refreshments were served by Judy Gilliland, Francis and Lois.

Meeting Minutes March 1, 2010

Meeting Minutes March 1, 2010
Sharon McGuire welcomed sixteen members and one guest for the March first meeting of the Eden Homemakers. Our annual potluck was enjoyed by all. Sharon fixed chicken and ham balls with everyone bringing a covered dish. Lin Bils and Amy Hill assisted with the meal. Sharon offered prayed before the meal. The tables were decorated in a purple theme, our Senior Counselor, Marilyn Baughman’s chosen theme for the year, which is purple gems.
Marilyn welcomed everyone present and gave the reading "March". The meeting was called to order and Lin gave devotions on St. Patrick. Those in attendance responded to the roll call, by answering what exercise do you enjoy doing.
Secretary, Sharon read the December minutes after which the Treasurer’s report was presented. Both were approved as read.
Under old business, the food basket for the LaRoe family and the food pantry were discussed along with the pancake/sausage dinner/supper.
The home remedies from the November meeting will be printed by the Secretary, Sharon.
Mary Brown thanked everybody for their kindness in the death of Jim Butt.
Under new business, discussion was held about our fiscal year and if we like the change in months.
Wyandot Cares was discussed and Pat Riedel is the bus driver during the winter months.
Cards were sent to Judy Frey and Sandy Marshall.
Next meeting will be at the Eden Township house.
The program for the evening was exercise and games by Tina Newell. She is exercise coordinator at the Senior Center in Upper Sandusky. Tina gave many exercise tips and showed us how to exercise with things we have in our home and while you are waiting somewhere. We will all be in tiptop shape for the summer.
Marilyn closed the meeting with a reading "If" and presented each lady with a personalized shamrock cookie.
Lin moved to adjourn, second by Deb Phillips.
