Meeting Minutes November 7, 2011

Senior Counselor Cletabelle Barnes called the meeting to order and read a humorous reading of a school principal.
Sandy Marshall read devotions about Thanksgiving the Forgotten Holiday and prayer.
Acting secretary Pat Riedel read the October minutes and gave the treasures report and approved.
Roll call was answered by sixteen ladies and 2 guests. The roll call was “What was your favorite display at the Fantasy of Lights?”
Pat and Dick Eyestone said their favorite thing was walking thought every night at the end and turning off each section after all is quiet.
 The Eyestones told about the start of Upper Winter Fantasy of Light by Pat Althouse in 1997.
 In 15 years 275,000 dollars have gone to charity. Upper Winter Fantasy of Lights only serves Wyandot County charities. Applicants must apply to a committee of 13 and the committee then votes to accept a recipient with a 5 year rule for returning requests.
This year the money goes to CASA and Open Door charities.
 A secretary, treasure, publicity person, display person, ground lighting crew, volunteer coordinator, a park board member or city counsel member, business person to get coupons, Dan Harris Electric, 3 full time electricians make up part of the committee.
The last Saturday of October the wrestling team unloads 2 semi trailers of equipment onto smaller trailers and move displays around the park. Lights are stored by color and rechecked to make sure they are in working order later in the winter.
Football players help reload the equipment on Martin Luther King Day.
About 668 volunteer’s help, collect the donations each night, along with the Police and Sheriff. Each year the electric bill is 5-6 thousand dollars.
Tom Murphy will give carriage rides for $30.00 each Sunday and one Monday.
Old business next meeting is on Dec 5th at 6:30, need reservations in by Nov 28th,   $7.50 is the cost of the dinner, Helen Pool made a motion to collect $8.00 and put rest in treasure, Martha Jennings second the motion. Motion passed.      
Shoe boxes and money were collected for the Shoebox project.
Lois Rife made a motion all speakers are to receive a check for $15.00, Jackie Mossman seconded the motion. Motion passed
A check was given to the Upper Winter Fantasy of Lights for $25.00
Freda Beamer adjourned the meeting.
Sandy Marshall and Martha Jennings served cider, fruit and donut holes.

Meeting Minutes October 3, 2011

Meeting Minutes
Eden Homemakers met on October 3rd, 2011 at the home of Junior Counselor Edna Armstrong.
Cletabelle Barnes, senior counselor called the meeting to order and read humorous readings pertaining to church.
Jackie Mosman gave devotions and dedicated them to Ruth Wilt and closed with a prayer.
Roll Call was answered by fifteen ladies and three guests. The call was "Have you done much traveling?"
Secretary and Treasures' reports were read and approved.
There being no old business, we moved into new business.
We will be doing the shoebox project. Lois Rife made a motion to bring what you want, make your own box, a box, things for a box or money for postage to send a box. second by Freda Beamer. motion passed.
Discussion was held about donating tot he food pantry. Treva Schilling made a motion to do the food pantry in May, second by Helen Pool. motion passed.
Connie Hahn of Traveline Travel Services gave the program on "Trials of a Travel Agent". Her talk was very interesting and funny.
Edna and Jackie served refreshments.
